Family Matters Friday! The silver lining in this crazy situation is more time with my family! ❤️ We’ve been staying connected to the rest of our family with lots of video chats! #NYSAFCSESpirit#SayYestoFCSSpirit
Throwback Thursday- Wearing my SUNY Oneonta swag! Graduated in 2009, received my FACS certification and starting teaching... all in the same year!! #NYSAFCSESpirit#SayYestoFCSSpirit
A little late on Working Together Wednesday... but here it is! Working on sewing more masks for family and friends with the new mandate from NYS #NYSAFCSESpirit#SayYestoFCSSpirit
It’s fate! I was wearing this shirt even before I got the email! Showing my #NYSAFCESPIRIT with my #FCSRoad2BCTE conference shirt! Excited for the rest of the week! #SayYestoFCSSpirit
A7: This year I have a class of 4 MS non-verbal Ss with Autism... ALL ON THEIR OWN!! 🥳 So I have an amazing opportunity to meet them at their level. Anyone have experience with a class like this? What kitchen based activities were successful for them? #teachfacs
A6: No limits??? ITALY!! More seriously... I would love to take any of my students to a farm and learn about farm to table food. They are boggled by garlic cloves... they think it’s always a powder! 🤦♀️ #teachfacs
A5: My favorite is our Food Truck Wars project. Ss in my class plan the menu and execute a dish and the FACS Ss next door create marketing materials. In the end they come together and present to a panel of judges. The final product: ultimate teamwork skills! #teachfacs
A3: I LOVE to incorporate student choice! Many of my major projects involve a student choice board! Helps@l create a stronger sense of ownership of their work! #teachfacs
A2: My bell ringers involve posting the lesson objective on the board in the form of a question and challenging the students to know the answer by the end of the lesson. Could definitely use some bell ringer inspiration from you all! Love what I’m seeing so far! #teachfacs
A1: Hi everyone! 👋 I’m Lindsey. I teach 5th and 7th grade FACS. My 7th month old daughter cracks me up on a daily basis with her emerging personality!! ❤️ #teachfacs
Today my students collaborated with students from another FACS class to compete in our Food Truck Wars competition! They developed a menu, calculated food cost and developed a marketing plan. Thanks @MarkDrollinger for judging! @NYSAFCSE#facsisfun
Love exploring new technology tools with @RobDogg_Miller! I’m excited to try out Flipgrid for sharing out career information in FACS classes and auditions for our school musical! #TECHsploring#FACS
