Tonight, we lost a basketball game but that’s all it was. A game. All of our thoughts tonight are with our Warrior families. Thankful for our medical response team at school and our local EMS team. Take time after you read this to tell somebody close that you love them. 🙏🏻

Mark your calendars, our Annual Kick for a Cure night is October 18th (Home games vs. Platte County) where we will honor our soccer families affected by cancer (past and present) and raise $$ for a local family currently battling the illness.

It’s sad that people resort to hoping people believe stories on social media to influence elections. I encourage anyone who has survived to this point of the post and is interested, to reach out to any firefighter or on Facebook. -6
Virtues we have held from our beginnings. We would like to address the social media posts that are false. We have not done anything “shady.” Local 4945 has not ever discussed trying to fire the current Fire Chief. -5
The current board has recently demonstrated, in a budgetary vote, that they do not value the level of training, workload, and experience of our members. The members that have stayed continue to do their job everyday with honesty and integrity. -4
We have lost three of our brothers immediately following the current boards decision to disregard the market value of our experienced members. This board election is a crucial time for our community’s safety. -3
Smithville Firefighters Local 4945 has been saddened and disheartened to read some of the posts being written on social media about the upcoming Board election. We would like to take this time to clarify some extremely misleading information. -1
