72 Churches in Trelawny have received their share of the $75 Million allocated by the Government to help Churches in the Clean up and restoration efforts following the passage of Hurricane Melissa.
In his Sectoral Presentation last Wednesday, Hon. Desmond McKenzie announced that $70 Million will be allocated to all Municipal Corporations for drain cleaning. This is in addition to a $$350 Million Road rehabilitation programme. #LocalGovAtWork
This morning (June 5), churches in Hanover that were damaged by Hurricane Melissa were presented with grant checks during the second staging of the Community Churches Clean-up Initiative.
This morning’s handover of $8.4 million brings it to $26-million handed over so far; in total $75 million was allocated to assist churches in the five most affected parishes that were affected by hurricane Melissa.
