More on McCollum: He had contact w/ UNC last week as the search played out, per sources. UNC was hoping to meet with him in person Sunday for a proper interview but he passed on that invitation to stay at Iowa. Malone's candidacy picked up speed as others removed their names.

Ben McCollum will be talked about when blue blood opportunities become open. He was just on Pat McAfee’s show and was asked about the Curt Cignetti comparisons. He complimented him a few times but also said: I’m more of a Kirk Ferentz fan. I’d rather be compared to him. No offense to Cignetti, he’s obviously a fantastic coach”

Former James Madison Safety Tyler Brown (@tyler3brown) on his decision to transfer to Iowa over LSU, FSU, and other schools:
