Enabling Environments (EE) is a certificate provided by @rcpsych. All APs are working towards or hold this certificate. This certificate focuses on rehabilitation and ensures staff have strong relationships with offenders, which helps improve supervision.

The festive season is here at Canadian Avenue Approved Premises 🎄 For many, this time can be lonely, especially for prison leavers. Staff working at the AP are promoting support services & helping them to foster family connections during the holidays to help aid rehabilitation.

During October, our Approved Premises created some beautiful displays and took part in culturally inspired cooking to celebrate Black History Month. This hands-on approach engages offenders to learn how to challenge their biases, rethink actions, and embrace inclusivity.

Tulse Hill Approved Premises has started to run technology support sessions!📱 These sessions teach people living in the Approved Premises how to use their phones to access healthcare, benefits & other essential bodies that they need, to integrate successfully back into society.

Staff and those living at Westbourne House Approved Premises worked together to learn new skills while cooking Caribbean food. The event promoted teamwork, communication & time management skills. It also created open discussion, encouraging understanding of cultural differences.

It's getting closer to Halloween as Canadian Avenue AP has grown their own pumpkins. This was a joint venture between staff & people living at the AP, to help build skills such as cooperation, teamwork & effective communication for successful reintegration back into society.

Facilitated by a psychologist, Beckenham Approved Premises hold engaging sessions to provide a space for people living here to learn new skills and techniques to control emotion and behaviour. This equips them for life upon release.

Thank you to @PAPYRUS_Charity for hosting an engaging session & providing important information on the support available for suicide prevention to those living at Westbourne House Approved Premises. We spoke about the importance of emotional management in aiding rehabilitation.

It was Men's Health Monday in Westbourne House! Led by staff, those living at the AP are taking part in educational group sessions discussing various aspects of health. This includes physical & mental wellbeing to help with reintegration back into society.

Canadian Avenue AP has partnered with @XOBikes to train offenders to become professional bike mechanics. A great partnership to help valuable gain skills for employment. They also donated 3 bikes to help those living at the AP get to work & appointments whilst budgeting travel.

Narcotics Anonymous held an online event for all Approved Premises to provide information on the support available for recovering addicts. APs work closely with drug interventions and conduct regular testing to aid rehabilitation. This is the event at Camden AP ⬇️

Westbourne House AP holds a 'Manager Surgery' every month to allow those living at the AP to facilitate a space for open conversations & build on healthy communication. It's used to resolve queries about the operation of the AP, make suggestions & raise points for improvement.

Tenancy Sustainment sessions have arrived at Camden AP 🏡 These sessions teach those living at the AP how to maintain their accommodation including information on budgeting for their rent and bills or housekeeping and keeping a tidy, clean space which helps aid rehabilitation.

It was #InternationalOverdoseAwarenessDay in August. Our London APs have been working closely with their local @changegrowlive to educate about drug misuse and the support available. All our staff are trained to carry naloxone to help keep the AP and those living in it safe.

Raising awareness about British Sign Language (BSL) and the barriers that deaf individuals may face in society is vital which is why Canadian AP held basic BSL sessions for staff and those living at the AP, led by Olivia who is a Child of a Deaf Adult (CODA).
