What a day at @DoningtonParkUK for the first @BTCC win (of many, I hope) for the @PlatoRacing era. Well done @jasonplato - it was a pleasure to meet you and those cars look superb!

Lovely tribute to my Uncle Rich, who died earlier this week. Seeing some of the social media tributes to him has been very uplifting. Thanks to @Ed__Dawes for putting this together.

Hello @EastMidRailway - in the spirit of constructive feedback on this new ploughman’s lunch that has been “thoughtfully curated to include some British classics”, please ditch the awful “Creamy Cheese”, manufactured by a Spanish company based roughly 1,400 miles from your HQ.

It has a use by date of July 2028. That is not a typo. Your services run directly to the home of Red Leicester, Sage Derby and the only three counties in the world that can make Stilton. Avanti and LNER both manage to serve route-specific, local fare.

This is cheap and nasty, and unbefitting of the new trains on which it is served, and the quality of service that your onboard staff are capable of providing.

Not a full @pipdunn travel review, but first impressions of @EastMidRailway Aurora: glides along nicely, WiFi loads better, but my God the seats. How much learning was there from IEP and other procurement not to end up with the “I’ve sat on more comfortable park benches” feeling?

Seriously unimpressed with the service from @TalkTalk this morning after a family member had their email hacked. Email address currently being used to induce fraudulent activity and its “computer says no” at TalkTalk apparently.

Splendid morning in Bruges and hard to decide which of the windows was best as I educated the family on great comedy of the early 2000’s (thank you, @domjoly).

The @DerbysWildlife reserve at Willington Wetlands was a joy today - over 20 different species of bird enjoying the spring sunshine.

All player interviews should take place in front of jubilant away supporters. Hope @domjdietrich and @Ed__Dawes enjoyed that as much as we did! What a day.

Either we’ve got a really exciting new manager lined up and ready to go right away, or this is a clown show for the ages from #DCFC. Let’s see. I struggle to see another option having let Warne do yesterday’s press conference and with tomorrow’s match so close.

An optimum visitor experience with pleasing range of audio-visual stimulation, as Ron might have said. @F1MikaHakkinen’s McLaren still looks fast. Just need a @TheBishF1 editorial and @PeterDWindsor race report and I’d be transported back 25 years.

This now becomes my all-time favourite New Statesman piece and the only one ever to have caused me to laugh out loud on the Northern Line…
In this sequel, chock-full of fighting, Ridley Scott lets his appetite for elaborate action scenes run wild. 🍿 David Sexton reviews Gladiator II newstatesman.com/culture/fil…

Oxford’s beer scene: quite superb, as always. Oxford United’s ground: quite challengingly located, as always, and I say that as a supporter of a club who build their new (then) ground on a disused railway works. Up the Rams!

Built, not build. I’m not paying this hellsite for Premium to edit this. Did I tell you how good Oxford’s beer scene was…?
