Good morning boys and girls. Thought I’d give you a reminder of what I do that actually pays for me to go to the pub. This was from a photoshoot with Fay Bound Alberti, an author. Fay needed images to go in her latest book and also for social media and publicity etc. We had a chat before the shoot and I suggested the location; Tate Modern. I knew several locations within the building that work well. An hour’s shoot and we got lots that she liked including this one that she now uses for her media. I love seeing this photo keep coming up as I scroll the internet.
Good morning you gorgeous bunch. Sunday morning, the sun is shining and dancing on my ceiling as it reflects off the canal. I’ve cooked and eaten my salmon and scrambled eggs. I didn’t photograph it this morning as that would just be spoiling you. I’ve got a photoshoot today at a church. You lot on the other hand, will probably be lying in bed most of the day.
A drone?
Not sure if you saw my post earlier today but your book arrived today. Thank you. So beautifully wrapped too.
We’re going to be doing a lot of pub crawls I think. ☺️
Me, walking by the canal this evening. For those people wondering how I get these shots, it’s very easy; I have trained a duck who is flying behind me and then down into the water and then up and then down again. It takes years to train them to do this and isn’t easy.
Saturday evening stroll in the Brentford sunshine. Giving you a little tour, with facts and interesting things. I shall apologise now for not being able to resist the punchline at the end.
@London_W4
Returned from a walk this afternoon to find this….so beautifully wrapped I didn’t want to open it! Sitting proudly in our back garden looking towards the South Downs. (Miffed that my husband pinched it off me straight away!) Thank you, Alastair!
@London_W4 something heavy dropped through the letterbox this morning, and when I saw it I knew exactly what it was 😊 Thank you Alistair, I look forward to reading it on my forthcoming holiday 😃 #IsItColdInWinter
@London_W4 It’s here! Many thanks! Good to see some old favourites, and plenty of favourites to be inside…..fair winds and following seas, it’s a lovely book. Cheers
Mornin’. Smoked salmon and scrambled eggs on black pepper ands sea salt crackers and topped with a sprinkling of Anglesey Sea salt. Served in my home on the canal in the beautiful morning sunshine.
Tea time. Home now and have just cooked this. Prawns, fresh chillies, spring onions, spinach, chestnut mushrooms, sweet and sour sauce and pasta. Quick, easy and healthy. Because my body is a temple.
Blimey! This was a challenge to find. The Brewery Tap pub in Brentford right now. It’s even in my book of Greatest pubs, but when I just came to find it I got totally confused and had to get Google maps out! The street is completely changed since I was here. None of these buildings existed when I last came. Just mentioned to the landlady and she said yes, they’re thinking of having a box of medals on the bar to anyone who manages to find the pub. I’m celebrating finding it with a glass of wine. Cheers 🥂
One of my daughters used to work for a multi billionaire. One day when the billionaire was hosting a little get together for his friends, one of them was chatting with my daughter. This guy was worth about £100 million and said to her “I used to think I was rich until I met him”. Being a billionaire renders all multi millionaires peasants. Being a trillionaire makes billionaires seem like they haven’t been trying. True story that.
When Matt posted one of my photos on his Instagram yesterday, it reminded me of our photoshoot in London to get the images for his albums and singles. A two hour shoot and we got all the content he needed. I absolutely love seeing my photos on album covers. Back when I was 16, flicking through the LPs in the local record shop, having started at college doing photography, I dreamt of seeing my photos there one day.
After a morning of editing and sending a client the photos from his photoshoot, I then spent time choosing the photographs for my next book. I’ve just finished narrowing down the initial selection. I need about 80 photos for the book and so far I’ve narrowed it down to 3478. Which is more than 80. So now I’m having a glass of wine and just remembered I got a pack of official England stickers for the World Cup in my back pocket after spending £27,500 in Marks and Spencer on food the other day. I’m too excited to open the pack just now. I’ll work up to that.
In the lobby of a Holiday Inn this morning to use their WiFi to upload a photoshoot and I notice they’ve gone all out on their World Cup Football decorations. Interestingly, I’ve realised I’ve seen nothing about it anywhere. Literally nothing. Are England not playing this time?
Scrolling through that other platform called Instagram and this photo caught my eye. Then I realised I’d taken it! From my shoot with the singer songwriter Matt Adey several years ago. We spent a couple of hours getting a range of photographs for his new album and singles covers. From that shoot I think we ended up with about ten singles covers. He got his money’s worth there :) Anyway, this one wasn’t a cover but he liked it and posted it. I like it too and very pleased it caught my eye as I scrolled through.
