Wrote this way back in 2017 @Lorehaven. In retrospect, I was over-kind to the BBC. Back then I was more bullish about popular culture. I figured there was no way smart creators would throw away great storytelling for preachy pagan agendas. Ah, such a sweet summer child I was.

This will be news to my children who read both of these as teens. They also had The Hobbit read to them when younger than 10. They understood it all.
I’ve been informed by folks on this site that The Hobbit and now Jane Austen are too difficult for teens. I can’t stress enough how condescending this is to teenagers. You’re taking away all the things that might bring them joy and leaving them with no pastimes but scrolling.

You may ask about Doctor Who's failure: why can't Christians make stories to take its place? 1) Christians do make great sci-fi. Find it. Enjoy it. 2) Don't just wait for it to get popular. 3) Know that even great Christian-made arts don't top secular charts—for good reasons.

No more excuses to say "where are all the GOOD Christian-made stories?" Ask about my @Lorehaven Library of 1,600 Christian-made published fantasy and sci-fi novels plus 37 reviews.

Please do update this catchphrase: "Where are all the GOOD Christian stories?" Many folks are making these. Right now biblical fiction is the biggest: The Chosen, House of David, the "David" animated film. Over in fantasy we have The Wingfeather Saga. And in novels? LEAGUES more.

As a sci-fi fan who ranks Spielberg's Jurassic Park, Lincoln and Raiders as favorites, nonetheless I did not enjoy DISCLOSURE DAY. Aliens are interesting when metaphor & simile are at play in sci-fi, but this apologetic for their existence/govt. conspiracy thriller is a mess. 1/2

"I wanted [this show] to be good because I love Star Trek. … What did we get? … A four-hundred-year-old chancellor/captain of a ship/institution who won’t wear shoes and sit up straight on any furniture. A non-violent Klingon who does absolutely nothing." —@ParkerJCole

Dear Japanese Twitter, About this time last year I visited Tokyo when the cherry blossoms were blooming. You have a beautiful country that I think about often. Here in Texas, the bluebonnets are blooming. Here is a photo from my friend’s ranch. Hope you can see it one day.

This week I've been fighting some of my own life battles! But we can't miss hot topics like these at the @Lorehaven podcast. Here's today's new Fantastical Truth episode with @ztrussell . 💥 What are your favorite war-stories? With or without the word "war" in their very titles?
“Dog bites man, water discovered wet, and something just exploded in the Middle East.” 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😎👍 What a great line after reading Matthew 24:6-8 to start the latest @FantasticalTru2 podcast. Well done @EStephenBurnett @ztrussell had a nice line too.
