I made it a point to be at Hope Gardens last night for the second day of the Lost in Time Festival. I have a great deal of respect for the artistes on this lineup, and I particularly admire Chronixx, so it was important for me to be there to support the return of such a significant cultural event.
While the energy was incredible, we must also address the practical challenges of hosting major festivals. As it stands, there is an understandable ambivalence from those living in the surrounding areas; for many residents, these events can feel like an intrusion on their privacy and their peace. This is a balance we have to get right.
The solution lies in creating dedicated, world-class entertainment facilities. We need spaces specifically designed to host not just shows, but large-scale festivals that celebrate our culture without disrupting the lives of our citizens.
