The famous Longaberger basket office building in Ohio is for sale! It was headquarters to a successful basket company that was eventually bought and shut down. I always loved how there's nothing else around it, just a giant picnic basket sitting on the great plains.
What’s stopping you from buying this Class A 180,000 square foot office building in Newark OH for only $8,500,000?

This looks fun. Produced in France, it definitely has a European flair that gives the animation a fresh look, at least here in the US. I'll check this out with my son when it debuts.
See you at the End of The World party? 😅 Prepare to get spooky, The Doomies arrive June 26 on Disney !

This clip reminds you that the power of animation is creating visual narratives that cannot be done with any other art form.
Opening titles of "Dealies", the new animated series by the creators of "Common Side Effects" and "Scavenger's Reign". Coming to Netflix in 2027.

The fight to keep AI out of the animation industry is worth it. I give grace to those who have dabbled because we are all but humans figuring out how to make art in an ever changing world. Jorge has reprioritized principle, which is honorable. Onward!
I have decided to drop out of the AI program at Amazon. I will not be making a Punky Duck series. Actions speak louder than words. My intent was to showcase artists, both new and seasoned, both inside and outside the studios, driving this new tech. My sincerest apology to those I upset. I promise to do better moving forward. Thank you for your patience with me. I will try harder.

Step out of your head as an individual artist. Jorge is a showrunner. His art requires budgets, producers, many artists. Large projects require sacrifices for other people's ideas. Like it or not, AI is in that mix. Don't be hard on him at his level. He WANTS to employ artists.

I designed the interior of Oskar and Suzie's room. I had cinderblock/plank shelves like that in college. In animation background design, I like them as a symbol of living inexpensively.
According to Craig Bartlett, Suzie divorced Oskar and moved out of the boarding house before The Jungle Movie. Good for her honestly 😭

Then, decades later, I drew cinderblock shelves into Bill's bedroom on #BigCityGreens. No frills, high utility, low cost shelving fits his personality.

Fun Fact: The character Arnold chops up here is based on a caricature of me. It somehow looked like me though back then I was a thin young guy, had facial hair, and don't have a nose like that. Still, most of the crew saw this character as me, which was pretty funny.
nah Arnold completely lost it here 😭

GPS and bluetooth are easy to pull off in classic cars. There are many companies that make classic looking car radios with modern tech that connects to your phone. I have one in my 1979.
This but with gps and Bluetooth.

There's a position in animation called a "Timer" who informs the timing of everything that happens on screen down to each individual frame of animation. Almost nobody knows about the skill of timing, including most others that work in animation (like me).
What’s a hard truth Animation/Anime Twitter needs to hear?

Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

I present to you the Nissan S-Cargo. Intentionally snail-like from the round shell to the raised eyes (and slow engine), it's appropriately named for the French delicacy. But also a cargo van. This is what happens when you let designers have fun.

This is a real car. I kid you not. No AI. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan… It was produced in the late 80s/early 90s by a special group at Nissan called the Pike Factory. They were sold only in Japan, though many have since been resold around the world, including some in the US.

Less snail-y inside, the S-Cargo interior is still equally bonkers: single spoke steering wheel, gear selector on the top of the center console, the center gauge cluster against the windshield. Forward visibility looks amazing. I like that you can see the headlight bulges.

It's a win for artists in this crumbling world. AI remains a threat as it's still allowed to steal human-made art (often copyrighted) for its own regurgitation. But this is definitely a step in the right direction, legally speaking.
Ai-generated artwork officially is ineligible for copyright protection as the US Supreme Court declined to review a appeal case. The court rules that artwork needs to have a human creator in order to be eligible. (Source: reuters.com/legal/government…)

IT’S OUT! Head over to the Gorillaz YouTube channel now (link in bio) to watch the full film. This film is a true love letter to the golden era of 2D animation. We worked incredibly hard alongside Jamie Hewlett to make it as period-accurate as possible and, like all our projects, it was hand-drawn by an incredible team of artists. We even used a variety of practical effects in the film, which was a lot of fun to do. We had a brilliant time making this film and learnt a huge amount while studying the masters of the 60s and 70s. If you’ve been following the release of The Mountain, you know how special and meaningful this project is. We’re so proud to be a part of it and want to say a massive thank you to Jamie and Eleven Management for trusting us to tell this beautiful story. We couldn’t be prouder of the work we did together, and we're so happy to be sharing it with the world! #Gorillaz #THELINE #TheMountain

This is plain badass. The Gorillaz band/brand continues to create some of the coolest modern animation. This is a great teaser that makes me want more.

AI is getting better at "art". We all knew it would. Artists, pick up pencils and paintbrushes. That's your defense. It's also your offense. I know you're used to digital tools but there's nothing you can't do. Physical medium is the future. Get in on it.

AI will be responsible for raising the value of physical, analog art. Just watch. I can't wait to see the art market flourish against a wasteland of derivative AI imagery. Art industries will change, many for the worse. But I believe the overall trajectory will be positive.

What makes art impressive to others is that it's made by a human being. Period. That's the essence. The only proof of hand-made art in an AI world will be a real-world, hold-in-your-hand piece of artwork. Make that, and you'll prosper. Start now.
