Very glad to be part of this project.
Utilising someone’s work without their knowledge or permission (or even providing credit, an immutable moral right in British law) is stealing, it’s as simple as that.
All writers should support this initiative! 📚

Today, we're publishing Don't Steal This Book - a (mostly) empty book from almost 10,000 authors, protesting the theft of their work by AI companies.
The UK government is considering upending copyright law to benefit AI companies. Don’t Steal This Book urges them not to.
Apart from the list of authors involved, the book is empty, representing the effect the government’s plans would have on authors' livelihoods.
We're handing out 1,000 free copies at London Book Fair over the next couple of days. If you’re there, pick up a copy!
A huge thank you to the thousands of authors involved.

Incredible haunted house bags by Zack Frisbie, each one a functional work of art! 👜👻💼
Also a clever commentary on the legacy of the art we leave behind, but the spooky vibes are immaculate.

WICKED x LONDON NEW YEAR’S EVE FIREWORKS
“Hello fellow Londoners, as we travel the yellow brick road into a new year, let us stand for positivity and hope and embrace the magic that we all have inside and come together for good.” - Cynthia Erivo
The jump in storage capacity from Nintendo 64 cartridges to GameCube discs allowed the developers to be astonishingly generous with the storage in comparison. A Super Mario Sunshine cutscene of a single image fading in and out is larger than the entirety of Super Mario 64.
Here is the fax from Miyamoto-san approving Banjo-Tooie for release in Japan. Nice of him that compliment (in my mind anyway). Faxes were like emails before emails existed, which came very slowly out of a printer
Reading @katie_rose_o’s ‘I Wanted to be Close to You’, published by the wonderful @fly_press, is akin to a smooth railway ride with endlessly interesting, ever-changing scenery - there is no weak link on this literary journey.
A 5* moving, lyrical read! tinyurl.com/ed3eae8x
