My longstanding passion for cycling. đ„°
A little throwback to my early days, racing bikes on 24" wheels, owning an authentic Nike Polka Dot jersey signed by Mr. Virenque and obviously fanboying Rabobank. đŽââïž
Bikes is happiness.
Full transcript of Jan-Willem's post after l'Oise.
Notice how:
- UCI refuses to clarify why they disqualified him Hellas
- Confirmed with UCI commisaire in l'Oise what was allowed, followed those agreements, then still got fined
The Van Schip situation didnât escalate out of nowhere
- The bike/setup that later proved legal
- The clear selective enforcement on his position
- The promised clarity meeting that never came (ignored)
This is how a governing body creates distrust
To be clear: Iâm not defending his DSQ in lâOise. He broke the rule and should be penalised.
But Jan-Willem refusing to trust a commissaire shouting something out of a car window is at least partly explained by the distrust the UCI has created through its own actions.
The only rider who might benefit from the changes at Lidl-Trek is Pedersen. He seemed to have become too dominant in the team hierarchy and the race coaching clearly wasnât working
đ Demi Vollering joins Annemiek van Vleuten
as the 2nd rider in womenÂŽs elite category
to win đ all 3 Grand Tours.
