Matsumura laid in his bed, the photo Nakamura gave him a little while ago clutched in his hands, arms stretched out above him. The photo was folded in half, only the side Hirose was on facing towards the boy in the bed.

This face after Nakamura said "Hirose is happy" is what really opened the floodgates for me, it's such a face of resignation and he looks content with it, though his breakdown after suggest otherwise, but the way he was genuinely just happy that Hirose was happy in that moment 😭

I personally interpreted this scene as Hirose wanting to talk about Hana probably giving him chocolate and confessing, specifically him wanting to talk about it because he was unsure what to think/how to feel about it, the way he asked "did you get chocolate from anyone?" (1/3)

was like an opener into that convo, trying to see if Nakamura got any and what he thinks about that, Nakamura saying he didn't get any maybe then made it even harder for Hirose to ask as he thinks that Nakamura then probably can't relate and might not be able (2/3)

this reveal of Hana as Hirose's gf was crazy, the way Nakamura did not move an inch and just stood there and then the way he said the word Girlfriend?? And then again multiple times as we see them the next day, kudos to the jap VA I think I will have trauma from that word now

also the colour change on the last conclusion of "Hirose has a girlfriend", they way everything looked more dull and darker than usual, setting the more sullen mood we would enter now, they seriously did this whole thing so well, I was getting goosebumps

Nakamura's eyes being red here and Hifumi instantly clocking it and indulging his request again, she is so sweet I love her (I'm honestly surprised she didn't give him any chocolate on valentines, not even necessarily because of her crush but also just as friend chocolate)
