💼 IN THE BUDGET: Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirms a call for evidence on support for co-op growth, as part of our shared mission to double the size of the co-operative sector.

This bridge was going to make such a difference. Now the funding has been pulled due to incompetence by DCC.

I’ve joined with civic and faith leaders from across #Exeter to reaffirm our aspirations for our city - where everyone lives in peace, free from intimidation and discrimination, and where we continue to prosper by working together. Unity over division, hope over fear.

I was really honoured to meet @bphillipsonMP yesterday when she visited Exeter. I was part of the first cohort to benefit from Sure Start under the last Labour govt, and so pleased Bridget is bringing this back. I’m also proud to have voted for her to be our next Deputy Leader.

Fun time out talking to #Exeter residents in #Mincinglake & #Whipton today along with local Cllr @LizPoleLabour. Thanks to everyone who filled in the survey and to all our happy volunteers who came to help out.

I believe each of us has a responsibility to look after our communities. Loving our country isn’t just about how we feel—it’s about what we do. It means rolling up our sleeves and helping, paying our taxes, giving our time to volunteer, working in jobs that care for people, serving in the military and the emergency services, being polite, and getting to know our neighbours. It means serving others—whether that’s joining programmes that support older people, fostering children, or just stepping in when someone needs a hand. Waving a flag is fine, but if it isn’t matched by real, practical service, it’s just empty symbolism.

Thanks to the VC of the @UniofExeter, Prof Lisa Roberts, for bringing together people from across #Exeter. The Uni is an important and positive part of our city, and with the @metoffice puts Exeter at the heart of the UK’s globally important science and innovation landscape.

This was a lovely way to end my time as an undergraduate at @UniofExeter, which has been the best decision I’ve ever made. Cannot thank the amazing team of academics and support staff who have helped me study as well as working in Parliament. It’s really the best uni out there

Exeter Labour’s #GreatGetTogether celebrating having more in common than that which divides us. We decorated the Jo Cox plaque in Belmont Park with bunting - which everyone wrote their favourite part of our community on - and hung hearts with messages for Jo on her rose ❤️

This is shocking and a big worry for all of us that care about vulnerable children in care.

It was great to attend the @CoopParty policy forum. Great to hear about all the amazing activity happening in Bristol from @TomRenhard and Swindon from @jimrobbins including the roll out of co-operative children's homes!
