There is a Stone Age tribal war happening in Colombia right now The Misak and Nasa people are fighting over a section of land. Yes this is real, and yes they are using traditional weapons. Video is from May 21st, 2026.
Community note
This video shows a modern land dispute in Silvia, Cauca, that was triggered by a National Land Agency ruling. While initial clashes involved batons, the conflict escalated to include modern firearms and live ammunition, leading to an intervention by the Colombian army. elpais.com/america-colomb…

🦔Microsoft's internal strategy document for its new AI assistant Scout says the explicit goal of phase one is to "make people addicted." The doc, obtained by 404 Media, outlines a three-phase plan from "addictive app to agentic platform." The tool sits on your desktop, manages your calendar, triages your inbox, files expenses, and acts on your behalf. It requires access to your accounts and files. Security and compliance are things to "figure out" later. Nadella already uses it. My Take After everything this week, I think this document accidentally explains the entire AI business model. Not just Microsoft's, everyone's. The product can't sustain itself on current pricing. We know that because Copilot just proved it on Monday. The unit economics don't work at flat rate. So the play is to get people locked in before the real bill arrives. Make the tool essential to how you work, let your company cut the people who used to do those tasks, and by the time consumption pricing kicks in, walking away costs more than paying up. IBM's CEO just told us the industry needs $6 to $8 trillion in capex to chase revenue he says doesn't exist. Google diluted shareholders to fund a buildout it can't cover from cash flow. Oracle fired 30,000 people during a record quarter to redirect salaries into data centers. And Microsoft's answer to all of that is an internal doc where step one is addiction. They're not selling the product on value. They're selling dependency. Get people hooked before anyone calculates what it costs to run, and make sure they can't leave once they find out. A product that needs addiction to survive is a product that can't survive on its own. Hedgie🤗 404media.co/microsoft-wants-…

Easy Lover was recorded for the solo album of Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind & Fire member), Phil Collins played drums, produced and sang as well. It became one of the biggest hits of the 80s and the two became great friends.

"Hurt" is not an original by Johnny Cash. The song was written by Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails) in 1994 for the album The Downward Spiral. Rick Rubin had to insist several times on Cash recording his version, at first Johnny found the idea completely insane because the original version is industrial and noisy. At 71, already very ill, almost blind and with trembling hands, Cash completely transformed the band. The iconic video, directed by Mark Romanek, was filmed at the House of Cash (his own museum). June Carter Cash appears looking at him fondly, the video was shot in February 2003, a few months before she died (May) and Johnny himself (September). Trent Reznor was so moved that he declared, "This song is not mine anymore." It is considered one of the best covers of all time.

🚨 do you understand what happened to Stephen Colbert.. 24 hours after his final Late Show, Colbert hijacked a tiny public access channel in Monroe, Michigan with Jack White, Eminem, Jeff Daniels and Steve Buscemi. Now Paramount - the company that just cancelled his show - is mass-blocking every reupload worldwide via Content ID. And the deeper you dig, the worse it looks: - The finale pulled 6.74M viewers - a weeknight record over 11 years - Eminem cameoed as "Marshall, the fire marshal" to greenlight torching the set - The same day Trump posted an AI video of throwing Colbert into a dumpster, Colbert aired footage of himself burning a real one - Mayday Network and verified journalist Matthew Keys both got blocked globally - for sharing a community access show Paramount cancelled his show to silence him. Instead they handed him a Streisand-effect comeback 10x bigger than the show ever was.
Paramount is apparently trying to suppress copies of "Only in Monroe" from appearing on other social platforms by filing frivolous copyright notices, even though the show was produced by a public access TV channel and doesn't use their intellectual property...

It's 1970. Elton John pulls out a crumpled sheet of paper and plays "Tiny Dancer" (my all-time favourite song) for the first time in front of his lyricist, Bernie Taupin, and Taupin’s wife, Maxine, who inspired the song.

The legendary video for "Sabotage" was directed by Spike Jonze and shot in Los Angeles on a very low budget. The Beastie Boys dressed up as tough cops of the '70s, parodying shows like Starsky & Hutch and Baretta. The car chase was almost entirely improvised, and Adam Yauch (MCA) was actually injured during a fall, but they kept the scene in the final cut. Released in 1994 on the album Ill Communication, the song and video became one of the biggest icons of the 90s: It was nominated for 5 VMAs and is still considered one of the best in MTV history.

Heart of Glass was created by Debbie Harry and Chris Stein in 1975 as a slow, reggae song called "Once I Had a Love". The members of Blondie (especially Debbie) were afraid that the "disco" sound would drive punk/new wave fans away from them, but producer Chapman insisted. Result? It became the biggest success of Blondie's career, #1 in the US, the UK and several countries.

"Situation" is a single by the British synth-pop band Yazoo from 1982. Released in the UK as the B-side of Yazoo's debut single "Only You," it peaked at number two on the UK singles chart. It was released as a single in North America, reaching number 73 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and peaking in the top 40 on the Canadian chart, reaching number 31. In late summer 1982, it became Yazoo's first song to top the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, holding the number one position for four weeks.
