My life has been about answering the call to serve—whether as a first responder, a business leader, or State Rep. I will take that commitment to Congress to fight for secure borders, better jobs for our community, and the values that make Texas thrive.

Last night didn’t go as I hoped, however, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as your State Representative for Texas #HD118 and to run for Congress in Texas’ new 35th District. Representing the people from my home, and getting to know so many families across #TX35, has been one of the greatest honors of my life. Freda and I will carry those friendships, both old and new, with us into the future. Last night, I called Carlos De La Cruz to congratulate him and encourage him as he represents us moving forward. I wish him all the best, and now we need to stand united behind him in the November election. Our values and our community are bigger than any one campaign, and I’m committed to doing my part to help us win in November.

🚨Proud father alert! Our family took a break from the campaign trail to celebrate my son Jesse’s graduation from college. I am so proud of the Christian young man he has become. A south Texas son who is graduating from Texas A&M San Antonio. He had a special surprise for us on his graduation cap. It says “Glory to God”, and has my logo but it also says 3%, this signifies that only 3 percent of foster children ever graduate college. PACfest has become a cornerstone Fiesta event for the Southside, and it was great to be there last week with so many families enjoying everything it has to offer. From the music and food to the strong sense of community, it’s a reminder of what makes our neighborhoods special. Dr. Garza and the team at @PACPR have built something meaningful — a celebration that supports students, highlights Southside culture, and brings people together. That’s the kind of community we should always be investing in and fighting for. ¡Viva Fiesta!

Over the weekend, Freda and I made our way to the City of Seguin's Earth Day Festival, where downtown was filled with nearly 80 vendors showcasing everything from local crafts and food to community organizations. It was a great afternoon visiting with folks, especially the Guadalupe County Young Republicans and the Guadalupe County Republican Women! Always good to see so many people engaged and investing in their community. #LujanForCongress

Last Friday, my wife, son, and I visited @JCBmachines for an update on their progress and development timelines for their southside project. I had the privilege of working alongside Governor Abbott’s office, the San Antonio team, and Bexar County to help bring JCB to the Southside of San Antonio - bringing hundreds of jobs to our community. JCB is truly a game changer for #HD118 and is invested in the future of San Antonio.

As a former Bexar County sheriff's deputy, I know for a fact that CLEAT has been a leading voice for the men and women who wear the badge in Texas, advocating for stronger public safety policies, better training and resources, and the protection of those who defend our communities.
