If you’ve invested the time to read The Ministry for the Future, do yourself a favour and invest a bit more time in this podcast about the book. The book itself is amazing and these folks are helping me enjoy and appreciate it even more.
Our penultimate episode on THE MINISTRY FOR THE FUTURE by Kim Stanley Robinson has just been posted! What better time to do some stocktaking that hopefully avoids melancholia? #scifi anchor.fm/marooned-on-mars/e…

Sad to report that I found Death to 2020 profoundly unfunny. Very disappointing. There was literally one line about RBG that almost made me chuckle.

Kiwis - step outside and look to the west. If you have a clear view of the horizon you will see a crescent moon🌙 , and below it two “stars”, the planets Jupiter and Saturn🪐 - over the next few days they will edge closer in the sky; a cosmic treat at the end of the hardest year.

Why do the AKL trains close all the doors except one at the end 2 minutes from departure? What possible safety benefit accrues from having a bunch of people sprinting down the platform to catch a train they are on time for?

I’ve seen various left-wing takes on why G W Bush was a worse president than Trump. I get why. But this alone marks Trump out as an exceptionally vile piece of work. theguardian.com/us-news/2020…

Not the biggest issue the world faces 🤔
It may not be the biggest issue the world faces but men who come to Parliament should wear ties. It’s not a bar, or a club, or a business, it’s a national Parliament.

I was 15 and it hurt at the time. But unlike far too much of the English population, I grew up.

“Is widely regarded” like it’s up for debate! Shows hand of God but not the other still stunning goal he scored in that game. Focuses on drugs and brawls. Lovely tribute, Sky. #HateBeingEnglishSometimes

Wonderful to attend the launch of this fine new book. Privileged to be among the speakers. Such an enjoyable event with great people, reminding me that there may indeed still be a future.
