Can't stop seeing Peter Filandia and a dash of Simon Feast in every photo of @sydneyswans youngster Caiden Cleary.

I think @ShannonGill13's Know Your History segment is the best thing on radio. However, without its own podcast feed, older eps are getting harder to find. I've made this spreadsheet to assist. More than 57 hours of sports history gold. Enjoy! docs.google.com/spreadsheets…

Crowd chat apropos of nothing. Since August 2022, 54 of Collingwood's 56 games at the @MCG have had crowds of 60,000 or more.
Today’s attendance is 88,019. #AFLPiesDees

You’d have to go a long way to find a more impressive person in footy than Josh Fraser.

Neale Daniher was everything contemporary culture isn’t, or doesn’t appear to be - constant, brave, uncomplaining, cheerful. He was the best of us.
A Club Hall of Fame Legend whose unbreakable spirit inspired the nation. Our thoughts are with Neale’s friends, the Daniher family and the EFC community at this time ❤️

Obscure stat: Geelong is one win away from moving into outright third for the most VFL / AFL games won since 1897. When was the last time one of Collingwood, Carlton or Essendon were outside the top three?

It’s hard not to be reflective when looking at Pendles’ impending milestone, and I felt compelled to put together some thoughts from watching him up close and working alongside him for 11 years. lukemason38.substack.com/p/r…

It feels a little uncomfortable and self-indulgent doing this, but it also felt right to record these observations and reflect on what Pendles has done, and the privilege of seeing it happen in real time.

There is some significance to this photo. Bomber Ben Jolley, the VFL games record-holder, tackles Maggie Scott Pendlebury, soon to be the AFL's games record-holder, in 2006.

And also rapt for Josh Fraser. One of the genuine good guys in footy. He knows he’s got plenty to learn across the next 13 matches. But he’ll be a permanent AFL coach at a club at some stage in the future. He’s a great connector of people.

30 years ago the documentary film ‘100 Years of Australian Football’ was released and it’s aged remarkably well. Chatted to @barhamdave on how he & @NeilKearney7 made it, John Kennedy, Derm’s vomit, legacy and the importance of preserving history. 📝: open.substack.com/pub/shanno…

7th draw for Steele Sidebottom, level with four others for second most draws in VFL / AFL history. Can he catch Jack Riewoldt (8)?

First goal by a Collingwood No. 34 since this man in this moment. Round 3 2014 feels like a long time ago now!

At 3/4 time, Pendlebury’s up to 32 disposals - the most he’s had in a game since the 2022 QF, 75 games ago. Only 12 players have played a match at an older age (38y, 107d). Incredible 🎖️
Pendles with 22 disposals at half time in game 431. He’s the same age today as Mick Malthouse was when he coached his 187th game - the 1991 GF with WCE. Mick had already coached his 6 years at Footscray. Says a lot about the longevity of both.
