Today l had the pleasure of hosting Chairman of Merck Foundation Board of Trustees Professor Dr Frank Stangenberg-Haverkamp and Senator Dr Rasha Kelej, CEO of Merck Foundation and President of the “More Than a Mother” campaign.
We shared the milestones we achieved in healthcare, media, and girls’ education among other sectors over the past 7 years. Together, we are building a stronger, healthier, and more educated Zimbabwe for the future.
I am glad that our partnership through my Angel of Hope Foundation has resulted in Zimbabwe benefitting 166 scholarships empowering doctors in critical and underserved specialties such as diabetes, cardiology, oncology and fertility.
What is more pleasing is that our all weather friend Merck Foundation has doubled our yearly scholarships from 20 to 40 due to our strong dedication over the years.
As a champion for women empowerment l am also glad that through our partnership “Educating Linda” programme also continues to support 40 underprivileged high-performing girls yearly.
