What a weekend! @PrideBrighton saw us joining treatment centre FAs and HCPs in a simulation run by @Luke_Tester and @Dr_Hannah87 in the morning, and responding to unwell patients in the concert pit and around the event footprint in the evening.

Big thank you to @airambulancekss for having me as an observer last week - a fantastic opportunity to witness their finessed SOPs and teamwork, chat with the operational and support crews, and learn from the CPD and drills between missions. High standards to aspire to!

Probably the best marathon in the world - the Brighton Marathon - is now recruiting for medical volunteers - please come join the team!! Without our volunteers there would be no marathon. This is especially true of our marathon, as with 20,000 people signed up, we need to provide care in our field hospitals as there is otherwise only one hospital they could go to. Join the team for a great day of unique medical care and a great experience. Partnering with St John Ambulance, GE, siemens, Barts ECMO team, KSS Air ambulance and the British Military we provide a world leading medical set up Clinical volunteers, doctors >F2 and above, nurses, physios (& their students) , podiatrists (& their students), pharmacists & techs, ODPs, biomedical scientists/techs, paramedics click here: londonmarathonevents.rosterf… Non-clinical volunteers: medical and nursing students, NHS management team, admin heros, doctors F1&2, HCAs, doctors and nurses who would like to volunteer as non-clinical click here: londonmarathonevents.rosterf… Team training session - 6th April Marathon race day - 7th April See you then! Thanks, Rob Galloway, Brighton Marathon Medical Director

We’re using in-situ simulation - adult, child and infant - to drill our teams before the event starts. As well as clinical preparation, this familiarises our volunteers with each other, the environment, and local processes, and helps us to identify and fix any latent issues 👌
