You have no idea how high trust Canada used to be.
For 30 years, this small Canadian town only had one police officer. He’s in his 80s here and the town still barely even needs a police force because there’s been so little crime throughout his career.

Pressing blue is an unnecessary risk taken by people willing to risk their lives for people who also do the same. "I'd feel bad if I pressed Red and someone else died" If they died, that was their choice to take that risk, but if they died because you pressed Red, they still would have died if you pressed Blue, the difference is now you're also dead.
Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

Mr. Poilievre cannot effectively criticize Carney for being handed his power, when he himself was handed his own seat. I understand there were shenanigans that caused that loss, it's bad optics either way. However. The Liberals have controlled a decade of some of the worst economic and social decisions in Canadian history, with no loss of support. However. I believe that without a collapse of the CPC, we will not see the emergence of a proper right-wing opposition to the Liberals, which the CPC are definitively not. In a way, this is the CPC's own fault. The leadership race that led to Sheer. Then the CPC used liberal ideals to attack the PPC. Then they tried Erin O'Toole, which was a mistake. They finally got a leader that can posture himself as being very based, and the Liberals got a (slightly) more right-wing leader. The point being that the CPC allowed the Liberals to drag the overton window to the left.
More than half of Conservative voters want Poilievre to lead the party into next election theglobeandmail.com/politics…

There's now apparently a "Sikh Heritage Month" They will celebrate any and all heritage, no matter how minor, except for Canadian heritage. Absolutely pathetic.

Announcing how they'll be publicly present while also turning off comments.
Our officers continue to have a visible presence across the city as part of Project Guardian. These proactive patrols are focused on visibility, deterrence, and keeping Toronto’s communities safe.

The modern Chesterson's Fence: someone doesn't understand why you shouldn't flood the country with foreigners, so they flood thr country with foreigners, and the foreigners do not care about the fence so they destroy it.
"Diversify the countryside" policy in the UK is going as expected

I am of the opinion that a death penalty should come with it a severity based on repentance. If someone understands that they must die, they get a quick death. If someone does not understand that they must die, they must be forced to suffer so no one else will be confused.
NEW: Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to murdering 7-year-old Athena Strand, seen on camera reacting to a woman telling him that a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. During the trial today, jurors broke down in tears after audio footage was played of Horner killing Athena after he told her to take off her shirt and said she was "really pretty." Athena repeatedly asked for her mother. "Horner is then heard asking Athena to remove her shirt, and there are several moments when she says "no" and asks for her mom. That was followed by repeated sounds of crying, screaming and banging," NBC reported. Jurors were also shown footage (below) of Horner being stopped while trying to deliver packages. He was told by a woman that the road was blocked off because a "seven-year-old kid" had been kidnapped. "Are you serious?" Horner said. Give this man the death penalty.

I hate to say it, but Mark Carney. Despite overseeing an economic disaster, mass immigration, and declining life satisfaction, he still manages to be popular. He even manufactured a majority government without an election. I've got to admit, that's kind of impressive.
Which international leader is the best strategist?

I post a lot about the people I shadow Never posted about someone who shadows me He's there every morning before I log on Every late night when I'm the last one in the building He doesn't cc leadership when I mess up Just quietly covers the balance Every quarter I've come up short, he absorbs the liability himself Never once asked for anything in return So I finally looked at the terms The buyer acquired 100% of the liability The seller brought nothing to the table And the buyer still closed Unconditional Turns out he signed it before I even knew there was a deal My analyst tried to model the return Said it doesn't work on a spreadsheet Said the whole thesis is based on something he can't quantify Told him welcome to the deal Happy Easter

Congratulations to @avilewis on being voted in as the new leader of the NDP. I look forward to working to hold the Carney Liberals to account for the worst grocery price inflation and fastest-shrinking economy in the G7. We must make Canada affordable and safe for us all.

This is true for Canada as well
Decline is a choice. It was made for us. It can be reversed. If El Salvador can do it, then so can Britain.
