Official account for Lytham Fire Station @LancashireFRS. On Call Firefighters serving their community. Account not 24 hours. DO NOT REPORT EMERGENCIES HERE.
β΅οΈ We were joined by local coastguards to discuss training techniques and see what equipment we both carry.
π€ A great training session seeing what equipment we both carry and how we can assist in water rescues.
β₯οΈ A reminder in working together, reducing harm, saving lives.
πͺ Training tonight with ladders, to ensure we are able to get a ladder up to a property in quick time safely.
Various methods include:
* Straight pitch
* Restricted pitch
* Obstacle pitch
β Each pitch needs to be practised and signed off to keep our skills current.
π¨ Tonight crew were visited by our Trauma trainers from Hornby Fire Station to have a quarterly refresher and updates on training techniques.
π Thanks to Mike and Ian for joining us.
π Crew were mobilised to an Automatic Fire alarm and returned to station to continue after.
π Shout out to Paul and Craig who completed their Trauma first aid refresher training this week!
π Ensuring your Lytham crew are up to date with skills and equipment in the area including De fibs which we now have outside the Fire station should you ever need to use one.
π₯ Congratulations to Alfie and Kian on passing their BA Team Leaders assessment recently!
π This skill allows them to lead a team of Firefighters wearing Breathing Apparatus safely into the danger area.
β Well done chaps, a very tough weekend that.
π So this happened today!
I completed my goal set, in under 3.5yrs.

π Tonight we refreshed our skills on knots and lines, ensuring we were able to haul equipment such as hoses and extinguishers aloft when needed .
π’ We also had an opportunity to check out a new venue to practise our search and rescue skills in Blackpool.
Weβve had a brilliant day engaging with staff from across the organisation and racing the Cheshire Firefighter challenge.
This scheme (which we nicked from @danila_deedee) will form the basis of our new firefit engagement scheme, which launches later this year! π₯°
Our latest inspection congratulates @LancashireFRS on its excellent performance.
