What a memory Brad! Parents, Guardians, and Caregivers do see the work #AdaptedPE teachers do an appreciate their efforts more than most will ever know.
An #AdaptedPE student gave me this key chain as a gift today. The picture is 2 years old meaning a family member: *Saved it *Thought of doing something special with it *Designed it *Ordered it *Paid for it and *Sent it to school “thoughtful” isn’t a strong enough word.

Yes! Helping students to see their work, and especially their growth, is a highly effective way to engage students in the work and reflection around the work.
#AdaptedPE 👨‍🎓 spiraling back to overhand throwing. Video #1 - Explore time, key elements have definitely been forgotten. Video #2 - after direct instruction & application 👨‍🎓 has clearly found a higher quality form. Short clips like this are so valuable to show Ss their growth!

You may be able to support multiple students, or even small groups, with the same elements but you also need to have planned for other levels of support.
🎨 Variation is the norm, not the exception. When we plan for student variability, our classrooms become masterpieces of engagement and growth. #LeadInclusion #UDL #InclusiveEd #EdLeaders #TeacherTwitter

In #Physed this means offering one size ball and one size target for all learners doesn't recognize student variability. Offering 4-6 ball and target options takes minimal time/effort and allows many more students to find an entry point for learning instead of just frustration.
⚖️ To meet the needs of ALL students, we must meet the needs of EACH student. Equity in education begins with recognizing variability and designing for it. #LeadInclusion #UDL #InclusiveEd #EdLeaders #TeacherTwitter

Agreed! #AdaptedPE isn't about just putting a ball through a hoop it's about providing access to the wider world! Beautiful story here Brad.
An #AdaptedPE student I worked with for 7 years just graduated. She set a goal of walking across the stage to accept her diploma. We spent hours & hours working on skills to support her goal. In front guests & all her peers she did it to raucous applause. This work matters!
