This legislation also provides an opportunity for MA to address severe climate impacts on environmental justice neighborhoods. It gives them new tools and protections & ensures that neighborhoods already overburdened by pollution are not left behind in a clean energy transition.

2020 was the hottest year on record. Vetoing a smart climate bill now is a big mistake that we do not have time for. I support the Legislature's commitment to quickly refile and pass this bill in the hopes that Governor Baker remembers his own 2050 net zero goal.
