There’s been a burnt rubber/chemical smell in Gallia County for over a week. It’s an ENT irritant causing headaches too. Initially blamed on a chemical leak at a WV plant a few weeks ago, Definitely not that. OH & WV EPA have been notified but that doesn’t inspire much confidence

While it is only 30 days, it is common practice in Israel to repeat the sentence in military prison over and over. Refuseniks may be ordered to return to recruitment centers again after the sentence is up and then get sentenced again.

Kids used to watch an insane amount of TV, both actively and passively channel surfing, even just on as background noise. I doubt a lot of younger zoomers fully grasp how much TV people used to watch, but it's important missing context for the social media/phone use moral panics.

Two weeks ago, I noticed something strange: the same emaciated toddler in Gaza that The New York Times had put on its front page had also appeared in nearly every mainstream outlet. Different news organizations, different photographers, same boy.
So I did something no one else bothered to do: I ran the children’s names through Google Translate and combed Arabic media. What @TanyaLukyanova_ and I found is that nearly every image told the same story: these were kids with cystic fibrosis, rickets, or other serious ailments used by mainstream media to give the false impression of a famine.
