Having fun using Canva to create scenes from a text. Here is Ovid’s ‘locus amoenus’ from the Pyramus and Thisbe story. Great way to help learners visualise and remember the features. #Classics#digitalclassics
Spent a very enjoyable afternoon yesterday at the @SpeakingCitz event. Learned so much both from speakers and from interesting chats. Thanks to @ProfArleneHH and Tom Wright for the invitation.
Having a new term clear out and have two boxes of various Classics books for anyone interested in picking them up from Hamilton. Might be useful for some BGE Classics or Advanced Higher dissertations.
Delighted to be able to share that I’ve been awarded an Early Career Fellowship: Inclusion, Participation and Engagement @SASNews. Excited to embark on this new venture researching and sharing ideas on representations of listening in the Classical world. #Classics
Delighted to have this article published today on the 'Better Arguments' project I've been working on with Glasgow University. Bringing Cicero into more Scottish classrooms!

I always show my Nat 5 Latin class the Bruegel painting of Icarus’s fall when we are reading Ovid but I recently discovered Andrey Daniel’s 2009 version (To Bruegel from Trilogy) in the European Parliament in Brussels. A happy find.
Fascinating to come across this French version of Oedipus set in Marseilles in 1720. The graphic novel format seems ideal to capture the visual element of the drama.
Have totally enjoyed becoming involved as a writer with The Cultural Me Arts and Humanities online platform, bringing cultural topics to a wider audience. Delighted to have my first article published today, inspired by a recent trip to Delphi!

Interesting to see this allotment device in the Agora museum, Athens. It was used to choose members of the Athenian jury. Wonder if it produced more random results than when I was called for jury service three times last year!
Fantastic morning welcoming enthusiastic learners from local schools to celebrate #Languages@HC_Scotland. Astounded and delighted by popularity of our #Latin workshops. Heartening to see such interest in languages ancient and modern. @scottishcilt
Can anyone recommend any digital resources which would genuinely enhance the teaching of Latin literature? I’m struggling to find anything that seems worth using other than to tick the box for digital lesson content.
Received this as a gift. Wasn’t sure at first if it was safe to bring it into the house. 🤣 Destined for classroom next week. Not as impressive as armour in @MrBaker79AD classroom but it’s a start!
Has anyone else come across PressReader? Discovered that via my library membership, I have free access to hundreds of magazines, including back issues. It’s amazing. History, travel, lifestyle and more. Definitely worth a look.
Didn’t expect to find a reminder of the Nat 5 and Higher Latin prescribed texts on the front of the Bank of Nova Scotia in Toronto! Icarus flying too close to the sun and Mercury flying through swift breezes to Aeneas searching for ‘Nova Troia’.
We are beside ourselves with excitement for our book launch tomorrow night, at 6:30pm. ArmaTales is a labour of love and we can't wait to share it with everyone. For now, a wee taster of the front cover, designed by the wonderful @CaddickMiss.😍💜
