I can understand a minister or shadow minister suffering from burnout and consequently returning to the back benches.
But a backbench MP? With no formal responsibility other than voting? What is it that time is being taken out from?
What is it that there is a ‘leave of absence’ from? MPs aren’t employees.
Is this just a letter to say no surgeries for a few weeks?

This sums it all up for me. For all of the ‘if, buts and maybes’ we are always going to sustain Championship level in our current circumstances. As fans we need to make sure we don’t demand ‘x, y, z is underperforming’ given our budget and starting point. It’s a tough ask. #OUFC

As a floating voter, I’ve always had time for the Green Party, a bit left wing at times, but I can see why people vote for them. However, this juvenile approach to the stadium has probably sunk their chances of an Oxfordshire MP for the foreseeable…..#OUFC

I’m not an expert, but is the reason #oufc haven’t announced any signatures is because the end of the financial year is the 30th June and they are ‘waiting’ for the new financial year to start to help FFP limits?
So my take is that announcements may start on Tuesday?
