Drivers should expect delays and random inspections at all entry gates as we enhance the security posture of our installation to ensure our ability to project combat power when and where required.
Remembering Those Who Served
Brig. Gen. Ahmed Williamson, the commanding general of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and the Eastern Recruit Region, walked in the annual Beaufort Veterans Day Parade in downtown Beaufort, today.
Initially known as Armistice Day, commemorating the end of World War I in 1918. The holiday was renamed Veterans Day, in 1954, to honor all military veterans. (U.S. Marine Corps photos by Cpl. Dakota Dodd)

Best. Day. Ever. 🥳
From the traditional ‘yellow footprints’ - which recruits stand on before entering the hallowed Marine Corps doors - to becoming a US Marine, it was a special moment when our 🇬🇧 @RoyalMarines joined 🇺🇸 @USMC graduating bootcamp at @MCRDPI in South Carolina.
Not only does this satisfy annual rifle and pistol training requirements, Marines also have the opportunity to earn Distinguished Marksmanship Badges!

MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT PARRIS ISLAND S.C. – For one Marine, standing on the Parade Deck on graduation wasn’t just a symbol of completing recruit training—it was the culmination of a journey that began when he was five years old.
“I was sitting on the couch with my stepdad, watching Marines in battle on TV. There were bombs, bullets flying, but every Marine stood their ground. Not one fell,” said the now-honor graduate, a Cleveland, Ohio native, Pfc. Andrew Chambers.
