Year 12 Biologists completed a practical to estimate the population of the students at school using a catch and release technique with stickers. All groups successfully estimated within 100 students the population which is an incredible result!

Today science club took their volcanoes outside and cause some eruptions.
They carried out preliminary tests using coke & mentos, water & Alka-Seltzer and vinegar & bicarb.

7X2b, Mrs Seymour and Mrs Thomas braved the drizzle today, and calculated the ‘speed of sound’ on the field. Thanks to MCS PE and PEA for providing the track and tambourine!

Today science club finish building their volcanoes 🌋
Next week they will begin designing pully systems to move objects up and down their volcanoes. This is part of their #STEM challenge.

Today Science club maked and tested catapults.
They had a great time and ended the session with competition to see who could propel a ping pong ball the furthest. One group managed to propel the ball 4m.
