Today, I proudly participated in the 10-kilometer Boda-Boda Walk organized by
@Akeda4. The event was more than just a fitness & community activity, it served as an important platform to raise awareness about road safety, especially among boda-boda riders & road users around the city.
According to
@PoliceUg ACR 2025, motorcycle-related crashes accounted for 47% of the total road deaths recorded. This highlights the urgent need for increased awareness, discipline, responsible riding & stronger adherence to traffic regulations among all road users.
The Walk therefore came at a very important time, reminding riders, passengers, motorists & pedestrians that safety on the road is a shared responsibility.
Through this initiative, participants advocated for safer riding practices such as wearing helmets, avoiding speeding, respecting traffic lights, avoiding reckless overtaking & ensuring that motorcycles are properly maintained.
The spirit of unity, fitness & awareness demonstrated during the 10km walk reflected the collective commitment towards reducing road crashes & saving lives.
I commend the organizers especially
@Akeda4 for spearheading such a timely & impactful initiative.
Activities like these are essential in promoting public awareness & encouraging positive behavioral change that can help reduce the motorcycle-related crashes.
