A community drum circle is a collaborative musical event created in the moment by all the people who participate. When we, as a community, drum together, it changes our relationships for the positive, allowing us to connect non-verbally and express our emotions in new and healthy ways. No experience necessary! Participants may choose to drum, use shakers, clap, tap, dance, sing, etc. Instruments provided, but feel free to bring a drum or shaker if you've got one!

Veterans residing in the Community Living Center at the Perry Point VA Medical Center enjoyed a visit today from officers and soldiers with Aberdeen Proving Ground Intelligence, Electronics Warfare & Sensors (IEW&S). The occasion was to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 251st birthday. Continuing a long-held tradition, APG’s youngest soldier present, 27-year-old Sergeant Sunderland, and Perry Point’s oldest Veteran present, 101-year-old WWII Veteran Kernie Thompson, cut the birthday cake together with a sword. Thank you, APG, and Happy Birthday, U.S. Army!

Harassment isn’t always loud or obvious. It can look like being called “sweetheart,” being stared at, or being asked personal questions like, “Are you single?” Actions, statements or gestures that make you feel uncomfortable, unsafe, disrespected or that you do not belong at VA, are harassment. If it feels wrong, it probably is. And we’re here to help stop it. va.gov/report-harassment/
