In March, 15,174 people signed up as organ donors when they got or renewed their license of state ID in Maine. Almost 58% of BMV customers have the on their credential signifying they've signed up. That's one of the highest rates in the northeast!

Today, I joined @MESecOfState and @NEDonorServices to celebrate #DonateLifeMonth at the Maine State House. Organ donors saved more than 1,000 lives in New England last year, but more than 100,000 people across the United States are still waiting for their transplant.

One takeaway: If you aren't sure what party you're enrolled in (or if you're unenrolled) checking with your municipal clerk now to be sure you're enrolled as you want to be for the June primary is a good idea.

The design of the new standard-issue license plates were unveiled today! Starting in May 2025, Mainers who have the Chickadee Plate will get either the Pine Tree Plate or a plain plate with similar colors.
For now, Mainers don't need to do anything. 1/2

Later this spring, we'll announce a process by which Mainers who want to reserve their plate sequence, including for vanity or low digit plates, can reserve those.
When the plates are available, Mainers will get them when their registrations are due between May '25 and '26. 2/2
