Nothing to see here, folks. Just a city where it’s too cold to let the penguins outside...
Please note the Penguin Walk has been cancelled for today, January 14, due to extreme cold weather conditions. We have set specific weather parameters to ensure the birds’ safety & welfare. We will resume the walk when the parameters are met. We apologize for any inconvenience.

I’m hoping every Canadian will take a break from their Boxing Day shopping today and read this great op-ed by @MHallFindlay, which documents the troubling rise of political interference in regulatory processes, both in the telecom and energy industries. theglobeandmail.com/business…

I hope no Canadian government ever defunds CBC. What CBC needs, IMO, is the opposite: assured funding plus governance reform that assures independence, balance and distance from financial dependency on the government of the day. It needs to become more like the BBC, NPR, TVO.

The first day of winter has arrived! For many of us who live in the Great White North, the #WinterSolstice is arguably one of the best times of the year. Here’s to longer days ahead!

It's not often that I am speechless (!) Sad to leave such a great group of people - now family. But only 'work' leave. And it's only 4 or 5 blocks away 😊@CanadaWestFdn
Already getting a little misty starting my last day working w/ @MHallFindlay at CWF. What a privilege it's been to have worked with – and learned so much from – such a strong, fearless, brilliant (oh, and fun and funny!) leader – who is only going to continue to change the world!

sorry... what was that? I missed what you said: I was busy with my two jobs, running a national charity and hanging up my law degree. Also, I ain't running for anything.
No! Not that! Can't stand to watch him emcee an event let alone run the country! How does being a TV host mean U have credentials needed to run a country? Scott Simms & Seamus O'Regan got elected because of their so called celebrity status only thing they're good @ is photo ops!

Hmm, you must have missed the line "We at the Canada West Foundation have, in fact, supported its stated intentions – including better environmental protections and respect for Indigenous rights when planning and building any new major infrastructure."

A belated 'thanks so much for this, Trevor' -- and how could I NOT stay engaged in good public policy discussion and development? 🙂
Congratulations to @MHallFindlay on her new role as @Suncor's Chief Sustainability Officer and Senior VP. Her work at @CanadaWestFdn was impressive and important; hope she'll remain engaged in strong policy discussion and development. cwf.ca/news/blog/a-goodbye-t…
