We often complain when our streets and surroundings are dirty, but we also need to be honest with ourselves as residents. Today, I saw someone dumping waste at the very spot many people complain about. Government has a role to play, but keeping our environment clean is a shared responsibility. If we notice illegal dumping or refuse piling up, let’s report it to the appropriate authorities and also discourage the behavior where we can. A cleaner Lagos starts with all of us. 🙏🏾 We can do better !!!!

Incidents such as this contribute significantly to the persistent challenge of indiscriminate waste disposal across the State, despite the daily efforts of sanitation authorities to evacuate refuse and maintain a clean environment. Unfortunately, some households fail to pay for the services provided by their Private Sector Participant (PSP) operators and consequently resort to illegal dumping of waste on roads and other public spaces. Please be assured that this matter will be thoroughly investigated, and appropriate action will be taken. Yesterday, I joined the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, and other stakeholders at a special prayer session for our nation organized by the council. While government continues to work tirelessly to deliver development and improve the lives of our people, we must never underestimate the power of prayer. This gathering was both timely and necessary as we sought God's guidance, mercy, and protection over Nigeria. We prayed for peace, unity, and continued progress for our nation; for the safe return of those in captivity; for divine wisdom and strength for our father and President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; and for God's protection over every citizen and visitor within our borders. It was a truly uplifting and inspiring session, reminding us that faith remains a vital pillar in nation-building. Later in the day, Alongside the Apc Candidate, House of Assembly, Kosofe Constituency 2, Dr Seriki Muritala, we met with the APC faithful of Ikosi-Isheri for the LGA meeting. We reflected on our victory at the recently concluded primaries, congratulated one another, and had sincere conversations with party members across different tendencies to further strengthen our unity and cohesion. It was a productive engagement and a reminder that regardless of differing preferences during contests, we remain one family, united by a common goal. Over the weekend, the team from the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation ( @Mdof_ng ), led by the Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships, Comrade Tosin Ogundipe, visited Gidan Kwali CDA, Ojota New Garage, to distribute free health insurance cards to beneficiaries within the community. This initiative is a continuation of our unwavering commitment to improving the welfare and wellbeing of residents across Greater Kosofe. Last December alone, over 2,000 residents benefited from the Foundation's free health insurance programme, and in 2026, more than 1,000 additional beneficiaries have already been enrolled. Through our partnership with the Lagos State Health Management Agency, these beneficiaries now have uninterrupted access to quality healthcare services for an entire year without paying a kobo. For many families, this goes beyond a health insurance card; it is peace of mind, financial relief, and the assurance that medical care will be available when it is needed most. At the Mayor Dele Oshinowo Foundation, this is what we stand for: being there for the most vulnerable members of our community, providing support where it matters most, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
