The government's proscription of Palestine Action came into force at midnight last night. It is now illegal to express support for the group under the Terrorism Act 2000.
But Keir Starmer and Yvette Cooper can't change what I believe. Classifying a direct action protest group alongside the likes of Al Qaeda and National Action is a gross abuse of power. The restrictions on expressing political opinions about Palestine Action are a disgusting assault on free expression. And this Labour government has been shamefully complicit in Israel's genocidal war against the people of Gaza.
Tomorrow, MPs will debate and vote on a measure to proscribe the protest group Palestine Action as a terrorist organisation.
Without equivocation or caveat, Novara Media stands opposed to this historic infringement on freedom of expression.
