For BGSU One Day, please consider donating to the Sherri Long Memorial Scholarship. While not part of MLBSSA, she worked with us to make our materials accessible to outside researchers thru ILL. bgsu.edu/alumni/oneday.html

When we say music from the pandemic, we generally mean music created during and in response to the pandemic. Yet, @MLBSSA also has non-music recordings and other types of materials in our catalog under the "COVID-19" search term.

Gal Costa was the face of Tropicália, music born out of Brazilian counterculture. She mixed Brazilian and non-Brazilian music styles and experimented with the timbre of her voice. Her diasporic and avant-garde style influenced Brazilian popular music and defied a dictatorship.
