ALT Τhe abundance of free and affordable social media broadcast platforms such as Twitter, Facebook Live, Instagram Live and TikTok (which individually count millions of subscribers) and the improved access to the Internet worldwide provide too good an opportunity to ignore. If we as forensic professionals do not now begin to take advantage of social media, when will we ever be ready to engage with the world beyond our peers and colleagues?

Recommended for all histopathology/forensic pathology/neuropathology trainees, as well as practising consultants. A wealth of autopsy knowledge from fabulous authors.

Death Investigation in Canada
2. British Columbia
Operates a coroners system.
Coroners systems originate from the United Kingdom. A coroner is not necessarily a forensic pathologist and theoretically could be anyone from a fresh high school grad to a physician or lawyer.
2h. BC Coroners service does not list the numbers of postmortems on its website.
However assuming a complement of 8 based off of licensing data, 2000 exams would be the maximum per annum.
2i. However the service appears to be strained due to the sharp increase in Opioid deaths.
Dr. Jatinder Baidwan (family physician) is the new chief coroner who was previously chief medical officer for the coroners service.
The prior chief was a lawyer.
