🟡This evening Lagan Valley Island is illuminated yellow in support of Foster Care Fortnight (12-25 May) and HSC NI Adoption & Foster Care in their appeal for more foster carers to offer foster homes to children in care across NI.
Chair of Corporate Services, Cllr Nicholas Trimble expressed his support saying, "Foster carers play a vital role in the lives of children and young people, offering them safety, stability, and the chance to thrive. Every child deserves to feel supported and valued, and fostering can make a lifelong difference for both the child and the carer."
This year’s theme is The Power of Relationships. Whether it’s the bond between a foster carer and a child, the support of social workers, the friendships built within fostering communities, or the connections with birth families, these relationships shape lives, create stability, and open up new possibilities for the future.
