Birthrates have been too low to fully replace Boomer retirement. There are another 10 years ahead of Boomer retirements, so we are really only in the middle of this transition.

The pandemic's full impact on the census in college towns remains to be seen. During the days around the count, our main concern, right at the top of the list, was college students. In particular, off-campus students. strib.mn/2XMf2RW

The @uscensusbureau released redistricting data today! Our office has reformatted the most-requested data into easy-to-use CSV files, so that #mnleg and others in MN can use the data for redistricting work. Tell us what you are using #2020Census data for?

Today the @uscensusbureau released the first pop data from Census 2020, showing that MN's population grew by 7.6 percent to 5,706,494. The state grew just enough to hold on to all 8 of its congressional seats!
