Colette Harmsen is in prison for defending the planet during the unfolding global climate emergency. It is still a criminal offence to attempt to protect what environment we have left. Poignant @jonkudelka Colette’s website doingitfortheforests.com/pos… #politas

The reason I commit these offences is because I am terrified of the worsening climate crisis - Colette Harmsen. Tasmanian court sentences environmental activist to jail for first time in more than a decade theguardian.com/world/2023/j… #politas

The gaoling of environmental activist Colette Harmsen for three months is manifestly unjust. Ms Harmsen’s sentence is an indictment on the politicians that voted for Tasmania’s draconian anti-protest laws. They should hang their heads in profound shame.

Dr Harmsen - a nature defender and scientist. Imprisoned today because governments keep wanting to kill Swift Parrots, Masked Owls & Tasmanian Devils while destroying their habitat. Wake up! We are in a climate & extinction crises. ⁦@jeremyrockliff⁩ ⁦@tanya_plibersek

People know that it should not be a crime to protect nature and our planet. As Colette said “I do this not because I’m a menace to society, but because I am terrified for the future of this planet” Visit Colette’s website doingitfortheforests.com

Colette Harmsen - first Tasmanian woman imprisoned for environmental protest. 3 month sentence for defending native forests and takayna. Prosecution tried to apply new anti protest laws, which failed. More to come on how to support Colette. #politas #doinitfortheforests

As #GinaRinehart is awarded the Order of Australia🤮a reminder: Ecuadorian people don't want Australian mining companies like hers abusing their human rights and wrecking their land, water & livelihoods. Land grabbing for profit is not OK. youtube.com/watch?v=gPfXtebD…

The Tasmanian govt reached #NetZero off the back of hydro dams and 'sustainable' forestry years ago, yet we still plunder the forests and have foreign companies set up tailing dams in ancient forests. Green Extractivism and dodgy carbon accounting go hand in hand in Tas.
