‘There’ll be lots of travel agents and no holidays’ has to be the best description of the what forgetting to properly invest in the voluntary sector to support social Prescribing will lead to. Link workers are only part of the solution. 👍

'there'll be lots of travel agents and no holidays'. Social prescribing has a good evidence base, we know link workers are the glue that holds things together, but discussion needs to appropriately cover the other bits of the jigsaw too.

We have design guides up the wahooda. What we need is a system that empowers local authorities to make decisions, backed with finance to develop and employ. The empowerment rests with those who pay. No design guide will make good places for people if the prime motive is profit.

Dad is in a hospital where porters junior nurses are mostly Filipino & Black. When mum & I visited yesterday, we spoke in a mix of English & Punjabi.
Man in next bed:
“Gobbledegook!”
He repeats it, louder.
Me:
“We’re speaking another language & we understand it fine.”
