#Flashback July 1st, 1993. The introduction of Tom Fraher as the head coach at @MSMBasketball1. Since the late 1980's, Coach Fraher has been a fixture in the @CHSAA_NYC, as he started out at @IonaPrep in New Rochelle, where he also graduated in 1981. After graduating from @stonehill_info in 1985, he came back to @IonaPrep and was an assistant there for six years, before coming transitioning to @MountToday in the Wakefield section of The Bronx in the fall of 1991, where he started out as the freshman coach, and led them a 42-8 record and two CHSAA freshman championships. For the last 33 years, he has been a mainstay at the Mount, winning championships in both the A & B divisions, respectively, and sending plenty of players to college, including Jarrett Lockhart, Brendan Dunlop, Alejo Rodriguez, Peter "Tre" Aguilar III, Malik Gill, Ibrahim Wattara, Elijah Buchanan and more. In 1994-95, he helped lead the Mount to their one and only @NYSFederation championship. He has helped lead the Mountaineers to five @CHSAA_NYC championships (1995, 1996, 1997, 2006 & 2011). Today, Coach Fraher is still thriving, not only as the head coach, but also in his other roles at the school as athletic director & Director of Admissions. S/O to him for his 35 years of service at a great institution in the North Bronx.

Week 8 CHSAA Players of the Week for the 2025-2026 CHSAA Season! “AA” Division Supreme Hinton - Mount St. Michael Academy! The 6’3 Sophomore Guard led Mount to a 2-1 week with victories over St. Raymond and Monsignor Scanlan, and a loss to Nazareth. Supreme averaged 17 ppg, 9 rpg and 2 bpg for the week. • “A” Division Kenyatta Wilkinson - St. Edmund Prep! The 6’4 Junior Forward in 2 games this week, averaged 29 ppg, and 16 rpg, while shooting 80% from the FT line, and 44% from the 3 point line. Kenyatta is a member of the National Honor Society and has a 95 average in the classroom. • “B” Division Jake Youngblood - Cathedral Prep! The 6’4 Senior Forward averaged 16 ppg and 11 rpg in two division games last week. Jake is averaging a double - double this year with 15 points and 12 rebounds per game! #CHSAA

Last night made the Impromptu trip further uptown to @MountToday to catch the young @MSM_basketball squad against Monsignor Scanlan. The game was close until Mount took full control late in the third and won 78-51. Mount improves to 8-7 on the season @CHSAA_NYC

From my observations Scanlan was down a few key players last night. If those key players were present, the game could have been closer. 2028 @MSMBasketball1 G/W Derek Lugo II was lights out from three point range in the second half. Once he got hot straight dominance from there
