Calling all racing historians: Does anyone have any information about the origins of the Champion Hurdle trophy, ie., where it was made, who made it? Chris is working on a book on the centenary of the Champion Hurdle and would like to include something about its history.

In all this discussion over Constitution Hill, one thing stands out: The horse is trying to tell you something. Listen to him.

Mr Pitt went to Ludlow today and was very impressed with the 'Behind the Scenes' raceday events. The ideal way to get kids (and adults) interested in racing. That's the way to encourage new, especially young, fans into the sport.

After the unfathomably tragic news today, it's heartening to see the many words of support for John Hunt on here from the good people of the racing community. It's more than a community, in fact. We are a family, and we take care of our own.

It's Willie Mullins' world, and thank goodness he's kind enough to let us all live in it, too.

Does the general public know or care about the Grand National? From the responses of the panelists on Only Connect last Monday: no. Can't expect them to know the sponsors, as the question asked, but all of them replied when asked that they'd never watched it or been to it.

I'm not really one to blow my own horn, but I wrote the script for this. I was at Aqueduct in 1985, standing on a bench cheering Pebbles home in the Breeders' Cup Turf. Yes, I backed her!
Now and then, a horse comes along and breaks the mould 💫 Pebbles will always be remembered for being the first British-trained winner at the Breeders’ Cup in 1985 🇺🇸
