It’s been a busy few weeks for Optimism Governance, and we wanted to share a Season 3 update with our community about recent happening and upcoming milestones.
Note that while we’ll be sharing the results of RetroPGF 2, the votes of individual badgeholders will remain private in order to preserve the integrity of the voting process.

Heads up for the community: later today, the owner address for USDC on Optimism will be rotated as part of planned contract maintenance. There is no action required from USDC users and the contract remains secure and operational.
Of the 10M OP rewarded in RetroPGF Round 2, projects and people in the Tooling Utilities category received 3,229,011 OP overall!

Approval to upgrade Optimism Mainnet to the Bedrock release represents a major milestone for the protocol. Voter turnout for this proposal was the highest of any in OP Governance history.

Heads up Optimists: we’ve created a new wallet to distribute some grants from, initially funded with 10M OP from a primary Optimism treasury wallet. The new wallet will receive regular transfers from the source wallet and none of these tokens are new to overall circulation.
To provide a framework for badgeholders to vote for RetroPGF 2, eligible projects were placed in 1 of 3 categories:
• Education
• Infrastructure Dependencies
• Tooling Utilities

Support NERDs provide human-to-human support on the Optimism Discord. They report spam and scams, flag issues and bugs, and answer questions in a friendly manner. Their efforts help keep the Optimism community safe and educate folks about the project.
