Using guidance from the Center for Disease Control & Prevention, The Mississippi Department of Education, and our local health community we will work to provide the safest possible environment for our students and staff under this time of uncharted waters. -Dr. Tony McGee Supt.
Due to power outages across the county, we will have a delayed start this morning. Classes will begin at 10:00AM. Bus routes will run approximately 2 hours later than usual, be on the lookout for them for child pickup. We will update if anything changes.

We are pleased to announce that we will begin the Insight Learning After School Academy for grades K-8. Please join us to find out more information and to sign up Monday, March 2, from 5:00-6:00 at the MHS cafeteria!
Congratulations  to these gifted students, Mason, Carter, William, Luke, and Yoslinn, for coming in first place in today’s chess tournament! We are proud to announce that Luke was also named Chess Master! Great job!

The MSBA awarded The Scott County School District with the Lighthouse Torch Award for its B rated schools with a 90% free and reduced lunch rate. Schools awarded were Morton Elementary, Lake Elementary, Lake High School, and Sebastopol Attendance Center. Congratulations to all!

Scott County Schools will begin at regular time tomorrow. Buses will run as regularly scheduled; however, buses will not make attempts to cross any roads with low lying or swiftly moving waters if the drivers do not feel it is safe to cross. If changes occur, we will advise.

We’ve had a lot of students to miss school this week due to flu and strep. This weekend would be a good time to sanitize book bags, lunch bags, coats, & jackets!

These 3rd & 4th grade students earned a trip to the Mississippi History and Civil Rights Museums! Their classes worked hard and had the highest percentage of iReady lessons passed! What a wonderful day of learning our state!
