What’s the BEST thing about multi part hard plastic sprue? I made this through Wargames Atlantic and it revealed something very important to me. For those interested, here’s the preorder link: miniwargaming.com/trench I learned that making minis is a fine art and being creative is important. But finding the ‘why’ is what matters most. Having this sprue made, and others that are a part of the kit, gave me much-needed insight into the world of making miniatures. It’s challenging but extremely rewarding. The satisfaction that comes with seeing a finished product is beyond rewarding and ultimately adds so much value to the tabletop gaming experience. My hope is that it inspires others as it has inspired me to explore more ideas.

I made a multipart hard plastic sprue! It’s being produced by Wargames Atlantic and it’s available for preorder here: miniwargaming.com/trench The idea of ‘fixing’ what’s already perfect didn’t sit right with me. So instead I decided to go in a different direction and make it truly unique from the original. My custom LORE for this unit: Temple Sentinel (Heavy Infantry proxy for Trench Crusade) Towering and implacable, the Temple Sentinel guards sacred ground. Whether trench shrines or shattered chapels, no unworthy soul passes while he stands. His armor bears the symbols of the sun, moon, and stars, marking the eternal kingdoms promised to the faithful. With a gore-soaked greatsword of justice or a roaring machine gun, the Sentinel becomes divine wrath. It was deeply cathartic to come up with the concept, sketch out the design, and draw this character. One of the best things I love about Trench Crusade is how it has opened up discourse on things normally considered taboo to discuss over the tabletop. I’ve learned so much from various wargamers and the variety of faith backgrounds by involving myself in this game. I have massive appreciation for the creators of TC for this. Character Lore: High Priests are servants of the lord that hold power that can officiate in scared temples. They lead prayers of the faithful over altars where sacrifices are made. It is not uncommon for High Priests to act as mouthpieces for god and stand as symbols of deeper devotion. Their primary calling is to ‘encourage’ the Trench Missionaries to preach the word and deliver souls from hell. Some say the highest order of heaven is governed by High Priests. My most ambitious video to date. I’ve been struggling to make this video for 7 months. Once you see it, you’ll understand why. youtu.be/59AovmK11VU Not only does it showcase one of the most talented artists in our community but the format in which it’s told was a labour of love that has taken months to develop. 3 previous attempts were made to make this video and each was met with overwhelm and failure. But each attempt taught me something I’ll never forget. Crafting a video that tells the story of an artist should be a simple task right? It seems pretty straight forward. “What got you into art?” Or “what inspires you to create what you do?” But telling the story of the artist is very different than just relaying a chronology of their art pieces. It’s also knowing when to dial up the significances that pay proper respect to the artist. It’s essentially using your voice to say the things they’d say if they were in your shoes. Emil Alégroth helped me realize this during the process of working on this ambitious video presentation which showcases his model conversions and the stories behind each one. Translating his words into my own which properly reflects back to his is a proverbial tight rope walk I’ve managed to agree to and it is my hope and honour that this video does it justice.
