A good production invokes something in me. The creative team understood the assignment. The visual contrast at every point was magical. Beautiful to watch. It came out in how powerfully they dressed Joyce and in how cheap Matipa’s wigs and makeup were. Watch how they gradually transformed Essie’s dress sense immediately after that powerful sex scene with Jonasi embhekise iinpundu phezulu. After that kind of sex with the love of your life you know you can’t have, a woman’s step changes. Uyaziphuthuma because you feel satisfied. Even if it is for once and you hold on to that feeling. How she chose bullshit instead of nothing at all. Check how they introduced young Jonasi and young Essie to us. That visual contrast was top class. Check the houses of the women. Mpume and Sarah. Let’s listen carefully to Mpume’s speech during her father’s funeral. How they continued this creative contrast through the descriptions she gave of the women in her father’s life. A good production can be messed up by very minor slip ups that are highly annoying. The use of unyoko/unina/uyihlo/uyise. Misplacing Qula Kwedini, the song. They used it when Essie was washing Jonasi’s dead body. Kuqulwa ntoni emortuary? But the production team understood the assignment. The storyline is triggering. I am tempted to ask if Gugu Zuma was merely producing for us? Xa thina sinje? I waited for Farieda to snap out of that character. Andimqheli engabhoxi! #ThePolygamist

While I said it was a top class production. There were small annoying slip ups. I stress small. Uyihlo = 1st person, Uyise = third person. Unyoko = first person, unina = third person. And the song Qula Kwedini was highly misplaced when Essie was cleaning Jonasi’s dead body. Maybe it had a different meaning for the production. Bekuqulwa iintonga kanjani maybe?

Top class production. The visual contrast at every point. I now understand why they dressed Joyce that way and everyone could see Matipa’s wigs. Check Mpume’s speech during her dad’s funeral, they broke it down so well by the descriptions she gave to all the women in her father’s life. Rich kids, I mean wealthy families hardly dress their children expensive. The production team understood the assignment. It is in their creativity that the story came out. Brilliantly and excellently! That creative team! #ThePolygamist

My kids don’t understand the fuss of isibindi esinomhlehlo. I don’t even have the English and isiZulu to explain it. I am packing to my niece’s house and she will make pap. Sizoba happy nomntaka dadethu. These ones from Nyukhasela will never know the happiness of isibindi esinomhlehlo. I am cool with that.

africasacountry.com/2026/06/… Journalists and communicators have a higher responsibility when reporting on sensitive topics. @RumanaAkoob and I zoom into the use of language by some in the country when reporting on the issue of migration and immigration in the country. They have choice to use language that is uniting or language that is divisive.
