What We Do.
The Black Student Success Centre is dedicated to championing the holistic success, well-being, and development of Black students and Black student-athletes at @McMasterU
In collaboration with partners across campus, we provide unique services ensuring Black success.
This year's theme — Aya: Rooted in Community, Rising in Excellence — drew from the Adinkra fern for its resilience, adaptation, and growth.

McMaster’s Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences Summer Scholars Program is a paid, fully funded 12-week research opportunity—no prior lab experience required.
Built for Ontario Black, Indigenous & 2SLGBTQIA STEM students.

The Biochemistry & Biomedical Sciences Summer Scholars Program (SSP) at McMaster is a fully funded, paid summer research experience designed to expand access to STEM and remove barriers that have historically kept students out of labs.
Over 12 weeks, scholars begin with a hands-on skills bootcamp and transition into real lab placements, gaining confidence, community, and meaningful research experience along the way.
No prior research experience required — just curiosity, commitment, and passion.
If you’re an Ontario STEM student who identifies as Black, Indigenous, and/or 2SLGBTQIA , this opportunity was built with you in mind.
