Very profound but unlikely to move the needle in the immediate term. Such an acerbic (yet very honest) outreach is unlikely to get Putin to move while hoping his ballistic missiles are ready to change the tide by 2027.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy sent an open letter to Putin. It includes some hard facts unpleasant for the Russian dictator. However, he also proposes a direct meeting for ending this war, on neutral soil, e.g. Switzerland, Tรผrkiye or an Arab country.
Ukraine is having the strategic initiative. Putin is getting humiliated again and again. The war has reached Moscow and Saint Petersburg. Putin is under pressure, and even some Russian allies must feel it by now that Russia cannot win.
If Putin refuses then it would give Ukraine even more political backing. If Putin gives in, then during a phase of weakness. A clever gambit by President Zelenskyy.

South Africa 2010 was my first even though it should have been Germany 2006. I got into football quite late (at 11/12). So far, the only World Cup I have not enjoyed is Russia 2018.
World Cups watched are indeed landmarks to gauge how far youโve come and how long youโve lived.

Notable how AFRICOM is reframing the narrative here. Last year, the Trump Administration sought a narrower US CT approach focused on groups that directly threaten the US homeland, and groups in Africa were seen as posing a less direct threat.
Terrorism does not acknowledge borders. In parts of Africa a resurgent terror threat is a reality, to include West Africa, the Sahel region, the Lake Chad Basin, Sudan, Mozambique, and Somalia.
