Last year, I had the opportunity to interview Ed Logg, the programmer behind games like Asteroids, Centipede, Gauntlet, and many more. That interview was originally intended to be part of a straightforward career retrospective. However, over the proceeding months...

They wanted to envision who Tupac would be now? In my opinion, he’d either have become much more radical, or gone the Ice Cube route. My gut says that he would have become more militant, more outspoken, and probably wouldn’t be involved in any projects with Snoop Dogg.
... RGG Head Masayoshi Yokoyama said they asked Tupac's surviving family for their approval for using Tupac in the upcoming 'Stranger Than Heaven'. He also said they want to "try to envision who Tupac might be now". gameinformer.com/2026/06/11/…

I don’t like to get political on here, but it is so cringe to me that Snoop went from doing a mock execution of Trump in a 2017 music video, to praising him a few years later. I accept that people can change their minds, but I believe him to be a man with no convictions or ethics

A number of people who played the demo I just published said that they liked the Twin Peaks vibe and/or references. I’ve never seen it, and am basing most of the game on the rural micro city where I live, but I have to accept that it’s just going to be seen as Twin Peaks core

Again, I’ve never really seen it, but I know that Alan Wake and Deadly Premonition both have their own Log Lady tributes. Personally, I know several local eccentrics who are always carrying a signature precious object. That’s just how it goes in these places!

It was a bit of a personal goal to try and make sure the game doesn’t unintentionally mimic Twin Peaks, mostly because it’s been done to death, but the impression that I get is that the show really just accurately captured the surreal weirdo charm of certain rural communities

I’m gonna beat them to it. DM if you wanna take out some ad space in my game. Rates are reasonable. I will take $250 or a human soul
Xbox is floating the idea of in-game ads, noting that may have potential to "keep our products affordable". Goal is to ensure they can 'continue to fund outstanding work' from dev teams More ➡️ windowscentral.com/gaming/xb…
Community note
The Xbox executive clarified he did not mention in-game ads or company plans for them, instead suggesting optional ad-supported subscription tiers like Netflix ad tiers. x.com/ballmatthew/st…

Hey! Just wanted to give a brief update: we have a build of the game that runs in your browser. We also did a few small fixes based on early feedback. The game supports keyboard mouse or gamepad. If you have a few minutes, let us know how it feels!
Hi, we just launched a small playtest demo for a point and click adventure game that is currently in development. The demo takes just a few minutes to get through and is up on itch right now! Any feedback would be much appreciated! 🔗👇

Here are some examples of using placeholder art in the game that I am working on. There are a million ways to do it that don't require genAI

This happens all the time with companies selling shoddy products, foods with toxic ingredients, using exploitative labor... they'll just do it, and if they get caught, there are really no consequences. The AI disclosure thing on @Steam is totally being abused by publishers.
>developer puts AIslop in game >never announce the use of AIslop >get caught >oops guys, placeholders XDD plz no bully :D its not supposed to be in the game, we promise :D

I can appreciate not using genAI in the final game, but this kind of feels like a calculated risk was taken, and now it is being walked back. As an artist myself, I can't really see a difference between using genAI in the early stages of a project vs the later stages.
A number of people have raised questions or concerns to us about whether assets in our marketing and game use generative AI. We have a dedicated team of over a dozen talented and experienced artists. With them, we looked into the assets in question and found that there were indeed some early versions of assets that made their way into the the prologue. This includes some in-game portraits and external marketing assets. We are actively reviewing the assets in question. Human made versions will be released in an update dropping soon. We own up to this oversight and apologize for any upset caused. Please be assured that the Early Access and full game will not include any assets generated by AI.

That said, I'm fully aware that using genAI for concept art and early drafts is becoming the norm. I think that there won't even be a debate about it after another five to ten years. It'll just be as common as every piece of tech that has replaced humans in different workflows.
